Madurai's Vaigai River received a floral welcome as it flows into the city for the annual Chithirai festival. Devotees and the Vaigai Nathi Makkal Iyakkam celebrated the occasion. Authorities have made arrangements for Lord Kallazhagar's descent into the river on May 12th. Extensive security measures, including police deployment and CCTV cameras, are in place for the festival.
