Tamil Nadu's northeast monsoon ended with 33% excess rainfall (590mm). Rainfall exceeded normal levels across all districts, with Tirunelveli experiencing a 100% increase. Chennai saw its fifth consecutive year of excess rainfall, attributed to active easterly winds and low-pressure systems. Despite fewer cyclones than the previous year, overall rainfall increased by 28%. The withdrawal of the monsoon is expected after January 15th.
