The High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh has declared both union territories as 'Hill Area/Tough Location', entitling judicial officers to a special allowance under Rule 11(2) of the J&K Judicial Officers (Allowances, Amenities, and Advances) Rules, 2024.
