Indian Railways has implemented new luggage limits effective April 1st, 2025. First AC allows 70kg, AC 2-tier 50kg, AC 3-tier/Sleeper 40kg, and General class 35kg. Exceeding limits requires pre-booking a luggage van; otherwise, fines apply (1.5x normal rate). Size restrictions also apply (100x60x25 cm).
