Thirty Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) contract staff are under investigation for defrauding the CMRL of approximately Rs 69 lakh. The scam involved pocketing top-up money from passenger travel cards through system manipulation. The CMRL is seeking compensation from the contractors and taking disciplinary action.
