The land and establishments vacated by the Assam Rifles in Aizawl, Mizoram, will be formally transferred to the state government by the end of April. This follows an agreement signed last October after negotiations involving high-level officials. Over 100 acres of land will be transferred, except for key installations. The transferred land will be used for public benefit, decided by a committee.
